AI Statement

This page is inspired by Damola Morenikeji’s excellent blog post which describes how to responsibly disclose how you make use of AI tooling.

  • Everything on this website is written by me, Tom Bower, unless I explicitly state otherwise. After all, if I can’t be bothered to write it, why should I expect you to read it?
  • I enjoy the process of writing and putting my thoughts to paper, so generating content with AI would defeat a large part of why I maintain this site in the first place.
  • I like to use em-dashes and en-dashes, and have been using them long before tools like ChatGPT started abusing them. No, an em-dash does not indicate AI use.

However, that doesn’t mean I don’t use large language models or other AI tools — quite the opposite. Tools like Claude Code, ChatGPT, and Codex have been a huge productivity boost in terms of allowing me to carry out research, develop ideas, and speed up programming. Importantly, I will always fact check anything AI tools claim to check for correctness.

If my stance of usage of AI changes in the future, I will update this page to reflect that.
